Join me today as I introduce myself and my sewing journey, share the inspiration for Bishy Barnababes and the latest pattern release, give an insider look into pattern testing, and finally, what I’m making in the sewing room.
Imagine the girls from Little House on the Prairie frollicking around barefoot in flowered cotton skirts with vintage lace trim:
Or maybe you prefer the elegance and beauty of layers of tulle that can be worn as a petticoat under an Easter dress or embellished to create a masterpiece you won’t want to hide!
Or perhaps something that’s shorter and full of fun:
The Prairie Petticoat and Skirts PDF pattern has them all. In sizes newborn through to age 16, plus American doll and Build-a-bear, and four styles included, there’s bound to be one that’s just right for someone in your life. All styles have an elasticated waistband for comfort and can be pulled on easily over the hips. It is easy to create a custom fit and with the addition of various trims the possibilities are endless! I’ve been amazed at my wonderful testers’ creations.
The detailed instructions and diagrams make this pattern suitable for beginners and experienced seamstresses alike. Join the Bishy Barnababes Patterns Facebook group for ongoing support and the latest releases, coupon codes.
Both rectangle sizes (in Metric and Imperial measurements) and pattern pieces are provided, as well as print shop files for 36″ and A0/A1. With a layer for each size and a detailed printing table, print just the pages you need on either letter size or A4, saving ink and paper!
To celebrate Valentine’s Day, I created the Heart Pocket add-on PDF pattern which comes free with the Prairie Petticoat and Shirts pattern. In sizes newborn through to age 16, the same as the Prairie pattern sizes, it’s easy to add a super cute heart pocket.
What other clothes do your children have that are just crying out for that extra something – a heart pocket!
